Girvan is a main line train station. You can take the train to towns on the Ayrshire coast or a trip to Stranraer or Glasgow is possible.
If you are travelling by train Keith will be happy to pick you up on your arrival and take you back when leaving.
Whatever way you decide to travel we are sure you will enjoy your stay at Merchant House
Girvan, 5 miles from Turnberry, is a coastal town with a lovely little harbour situated in South Ayrshire on the A77. A walk along the promenade provides a lovely view of Ailsa Craig and Arran with sunsets that are spectacular.
Whilst staying at Merchant House you can easily visit the wonderful landscape, heritage and culture of South Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway, including Culzean Castle, Rozelle House Galleries, Burns cottage and museum at Alloway, Scottish Industrial Railway Centre at Dalmellington, the gardens at Castle Kennedy, Port Logan and Glenwan or Glentrool Visitor Centre. The views both coastal and further inland are spectacul. The ferry to Ireland at Cairn Ryan is only 35 minutes drive away. There are plenty of cafes in Girvan and we recommend a meal at The Vault, The Yasmin Indian Restaurant or Austins.
